How to upload 3D photos to Facebook from Android, iPhone or PC? In October 2018, Facebook introduced a service for 3D photos that were limited to devices with dual or triple cameras. Before, the tool was mainly based on the depth of the dual/triple camera. The latest 3D photography technology, however, relies on machine learning to convert a normal photo into 3D. Facebook says users can also use the front camera to shoot 3D selfies.

Create a 3D Facebook Photo from Android:

  • Open the¬†Facebook¬†app¬†and tap “what you think”.
  • Find and tap ‚Äú3D Photo‚ÄĚ.
  • Choose which photo you want to convert to 3D and wait for the process to complete.
  • Click on ‚ÄúPost‚ÄĚ to share the photo.

Create 3D Photo from iPhone :

  • Open the Facebook app, tap on “What do you think” and select an image.
  • Click on “Create 3D” at the top left of your photo.
  • Wait for the process to complete.

iPhones without Portrait mode:

  • Open the official¬†Facebook¬†app¬†and tap on “What You Think”.
  • Find and select ‚Äú3D Photo‚ÄĚ.
  • Wait for the process to complete.

Creating 3D photography from PC :

  • Click the image/video option under “What do you think”.
  • Select the image, and its¬†depth map, which should end with “_depth” in the name.¬†Keep in mind that the aspect ratio of files should be the same.
  • The 3D photo will be created after the process is completed.

Supported Devices:

According to Facebook, users with iPhone 7 or mid-range Android devices will be able to take 3D photos. The company has not released a list of supported devices. However, the tool works on most iPhones and some Android devices.
